Assenmacher Bicycle Company

Matt Assenmacher trained at the internationally known Bob Jackson Cycles in Leeds, England in the early 1970's.  Under the guidance of master frame builder Dan Foster, he learned the traditional English frame building skills and design practices.

In 1973, the original Assenmacher bicycle frame shop was set up in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. In 1978 the frame shop was moved to Swartz Creek, Michigan and a full-service retail bicycle shop selling Schwinn bicycles was added.  During the late 1980’s through the early 2000’s the company expanded to three locations in Genesee County.

Today we have consolidated all operations to a single retail and repair shop featuring Trek and Specialized bicycles at 1272 West Hill Rd. in Mundy Township.  This location, which we purchased in 1990, has gone through an extensive expansion and remodel over the last twelve months.  We have created a large, attractive, brick and mortar retail bicycle show place.  Our location on Hill Road, in Mundy Township, has easy access to I-75, I-475 and U.S. 23 expressways.

We feel that our strong history, location, facilities and brands will allow us to help you with all of your cycling needs.
